The agreement comprises:
• Agreement: Terms and conditions
• Annexure A: Schedule of variables
• Annexure B: Scope of services specific to each discipline
• Further annexures:
As required and identified in the schedule, which may, inter alia, include the relevant tariff of professional fees and schedule of disbursement rates.
Annexure B for the following disciplines is available through PROCSA: architect, civil engineer, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, principal agent, principal consultant, project manager, quantity surveyor, and structural engineer. A blank Annexure B template is also available for those disciplines not yet published. A combined matrix of these services is also available from PROCSA.
What are the guidelines of the agreement?
This agreement requires that the services be clearly set out in relation to the scope and nature of the work being undertaken.
The services listed in Annexure B are grouped in six defined stages common to all disciplines. In practice, these stages may overlap.
The services provided by the principal consultant and the principal agent are often carried out by a professional project manager. Where a project manager is not specifically appointed, a consultant should be appointed to carry out such services.
Parties are advised to ensure that they are familiar with the definitions that are provided for the text highlighted in bold.
